ファーストアルバム『創業』で幕を開けた“耐複雑性”ミュージックカンパニー・ぷにぷに電機の、新たなフェーズは『株』。生命を育む根「株」と、価値を分かち合う「株」券、そして多様に枝分かれしていく微生物の「株」を重ね合わせたタイトルとなっている。
Kan Sano、Shin Sakiura、Mikeneko Homeless、Yohji Igarashi、Taishi Satoといった顔ぶれに加え、西野恵未、ESME MORI、和久井沙良、valknee、さらに日本国外からはPaul Grant（California）、Pikes（Stockholm）、ming（Toronto）らが参加した楽曲をまとめた、通称"ベスト電機"第2弾。
ポップ、チル、ジャズ、クラブサウンドを多彩なメンツで結びながら、音楽は株の芽吹きのように次々と広がり、複雑性を抱えた豊かな森を形づくる。個と個が根を結び、共に育つぷにぷに電機の姿が刻まれた一枚。
アートワークは我喜屋位瑳務、ジャケットデザインは柴田ユースケ（soda design）が手掛け、紙ジャケット仕様となっている。

Following the first album Sōgyō (Foundation), which introduced the “endurance of complexity” music company Punipunidenki, the next phase is Kabu (Stocks). The title carries multiple meanings: the rootstock that nurtures life, the stock certificate that shares value, and the microbial strain that branches into diverse forms.
Gathering tracks created with familiar collaborators Kan Sano, Shin Sakiura, Mikeneko Homeless, Yohji Igarashi, and Taishi Sato, the album also features Emi Nishino, ESME MORI, Sara Wakui, valknee, along with international producers Paul Grant (California), Pikes (Stockholm), and ming (Toronto) — making it the second installment of what has been called the “Best Denki” series.
Weaving together pop, chill, jazz, and club sounds with this diverse cast, the music expands like sprouting stocks, shaping a lush forest of complexity. It is an album that records Punipunidenki’s vision of individuals taking root together and growing as one.
The artwork is by Isamu Gakiya, with jacket design by Yusuke Shibata (soda design), presented in a paper-sleeve edition.
