ぷにぷに電機が1/29(水)に新曲『Quasar』をワーナーミュージック・グループ傘下のグローバルディストリビューターADA Japanよりリリースする。本作は、小袋成彬とYaffleが主宰するTOKAと音楽出版社フジパシフィックミュージックによるコライト企画「TOKA Songwriting Camp 2024」にて、ぷにぷに電機とAudunが作り上げた楽曲。「Quasar」とは非常に離れた距離に存在しながら極めて明るく輝く天体のこと。K-POPグループ・IVEのシングル「Kitsch」や「I AM」を手がけたノルウェー出身のポッププロデューサーAudun Agnarと、シティポップ/ジャズ/クラブミュージックなどジャンルレスに活動する日本のシンガー兼音楽プロデューサーぷにぷに電機という両者が集い、強くしなやかなビート、儚くも希望に満ちた歌詞、そして美しいメロディが織りなす、極上のEDMが誕生した。 ジャケットのキャラクターは「滅びゆく地球を救う自律型ヒューマノイド＝Quasar」という本楽曲の世界観設定をもとに、イラストレーター陽子が描き下ろし。数々のマンガやアニメのロゴ・パッケージを手がける團 夢見（imagejack）がデザインを担当した。
A stunning melodic EDM track that transcends borders, "Quasar" is the result of a creative session between Norwegian producer Audun Agnar and Japanese singer-producer Punipunidenki, blending the sonic landscapes of Scandinavia and Japan into a celestial masterpiece.
Set for release on January 29 (Wed.) via ADA Japan, a global distributor under Warner Music Group, "Quasar" was crafted during the TOKA Songwriting Camp 2024, a co-writing initiative led by TOKA (founded by Nariaki Obukuro and Yaffle) in collaboration with Fuji Pacific Music Publishing.
The title "Quasar" refers to an astronomical entity that shines intensely despite its vast distance—an apt metaphor for this cross-cultural collaboration. Audun Agnar, the Norwegian pop producer behind K-POP megahits like IVE’s “Kitsch” and “I AM”, joins forces with Punipunidenki, a genre-defying artist known for seamlessly blending city pop, jazz, and club music. Together, they have created a track that combines powerful yet fluid beats, ethereal yet hopeful lyrics, and an exquisite melody, delivering an emotionally charged and sonically rich EDM experience.
The single’s artwork brings its futuristic concept to life. Illustrator Yoko designed the cover character, envisioned as an autonomous humanoid named "Quasar" on a mission to save a dying Earth. The typography and packaging were crafted by Yumi Dan (imagejack), a renowned designer behind numerous manga and anime visuals.
With "Quasar", Punipunidenki and Audun Agnar present a dazzling, otherworldly EDM soundscape—bridging the music cultures of Japan and Norway in spectacular fashion.
